Identity (1999)- Milan Kundera

Review: Try it.

What makes this novel compelling is Milan Kundera’s miraculous ability to transform characters into real people. Kundera captures the interiority of his characters better than any other author I have read. You really feel like you become two different characters as you read Identity, and that is something everyone will admire. I don’t really need to tell you much about the plot—the story is interesting, but ends in a bit of a “meh”. At the same time pick Identity up in a library or wherever and read the first couple of pages. See if the character’s voice doesn’t steal you away instantly. Try it. I dare you.
