Yi Yi: A One and a Two (2000)- Edward Yang
Verdict: Watch it!
While Yi Yi revolves around a very complicated Taiwanese family, it is not a film dedicated to the weight of family struggle. Instead, it is a film dedicated to the lightness—the life—found within that struggle. This is something very few movies achieve. I could rave about the cinematography, and the acting is particularly excellent, but really, director Edward Yang is most to be admired. This is a beautiful film that anyone would enjoy.
