Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity (2006)- David Lynch
Verdict: Try it.
David Lynch gives an inside look into the method and source of his creativity. Yes, he’s trying to sell you on transcendental meditation, so if you don’t like that sort of thing, you may hate this, but you will still have to admit it’s fascinating. While Lynch’s insights into his own process are packaged as brief nuggets, many of them will give reader lasting ideas or at a minimum a contagious desire to catch big fish (big ideas) of his or her own. Most compelling to me was when Lynch claimed that the source of his bizarre work was not a disturbed past, but instead, his search for peace and total life-affirming consciousness.
