Verdict: Watch it!
Burden of Dreams chronicles Werner Herzog’s difficulties in making the film Fitzcarraldo, and you will not believe how difficult the process was. As Herzog points out in the documentary, it’s almost as if God himself was trying to stop the movie from being made. But it did get made.
Whether you have seen Fitzcarraldo or not, this is worth watching if only to witness one man’s determination to accomplish his dream. In any case, you will get to see how a 300 ton boat was pulled over a mountain. Who wouldn’t want to see that? Burden of Dreams is inspiring and gravity defying from start to fimish. Watch it!
