Yes, depending on how you look at it, Beauty and the Beast can have a terrible message—“Stay in your abusive relationships, ladies. He’s got a good heart. Stick with him. Things will work out in the end.” But that doesn’t stop Beauty and the Beast from making a powerful impression on me.You can interperet the story differently as well.
I grew up on this one. It’s still my favorite. As a morbidly obese boy with no girlfriend, I always felt like I was the beast. That emotional connection has always stuck with me.
