Fahrenheit 451
Why? This is another tough one. The real answer may go all the way back to The Call of the Wild or The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, maybe even Animal Farm, but I particularly remember enjoying Fahrenheit 451 in school. I also remember that it made me really want to read more. One reason was because at the time I thought it was bizarre that books could be so powerful that governments would burn them. The other reason was that this book was actually exciting. At the time I thought books were pretty boring, even books that I liked.
