Three Great Nicolas Cage Performances

Nicolas Cage is easy to knock, but I think his best performances make up for his worst. Here are three great ones, and yes, I think he has more.

1. Charlie and Donald Kaufman in Adaptation (2002)

Cage plays twin writers, one slightly more pathetic than the other. He is subtle, endearing, witty, and hilarious.

2. Terrence McDonagh in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009)

Bad cop gone worse + crack. Cage becomes more and more insane as the film continues. His performance is jaw-dropping and side-splitting at the same time.

3. Daemon Macready/Big Daddy in Kick-Ass (2010)

A wrongfully imprisoned, emotionally tortured and confused father/widow/ex-cop turned super hero. It sounds awful, but its the exact opposite.
