Aguirre:The Wrath of God (1972)- Werner Herzog
If you haven’t noticed by now, I love Werner Herzog–and I’ve only seen six of his films. Aguirre:The Wrath of God is my favorite so far. It’s a spellbinding depiction of obsession and greed. If star Klaus Kinski really was insane, Aguirre: The Wrath of God benefits all the more. His terrifying performance alone is worth watching. Fortunately, the whole film is just as excellent.
